In 1968, a young woman was found dead along a dirt road near Eagle Creek, north of Georgetown, Kentucky. For 30 years, she was known only as "Tent Girl". This album is a series of overlapping narratives inspired by her story as re-imagined to incorporate imagery and locales from Bauer's rural Kentucky upbringing. These songs explore what it means to be home and lost, what it means to pass from life to death.

"The staggering darkness and the uncomfortable weight of his songwriting is where his magic is."
-Aversion.com

"Bauer’s work is simply astounding—not just on par with Samuel Beam’s Iron and Wine bittersweet ethos, but a rival to its haunting intimacy"

Globetrotter, troubadour, teacher, migrant worker; Soltero's Tim Howard is a man with many a feather in his cap. This is lovelorn folk-pop at its finest moment: desperate and romantic. Love is declared, sold down the river, and stolen from the hand of God through the course of twelve songs.

"Bursting with intimacy and mystery"
-Boston Globe

"The Soltero sound doesn’t waver and continues to deliver what it always has, intelligently-crafted music with folk roots and a quirky twist.... Howard crafts tunes from sparse, broken heart ballads fit for a poorly-lit bar to lively, well-layered tunes that border on pop"
-Delusions of Adequacy

Fruitless Ways
Blue Moon #9

3 Chord Song

Following up their acclaimed and uncomfortable Sex Brain EP, The Black Swans remove tongue from cheek and pour forth the reconciliation and reconstruction of spirit. Raw and contrary, Change! is a slow-burner that slips through the fingers, taking a left turn to Twin Peaks. Dark and sweet...Appalachian and learned in its sweep.

"The Swans blend the mysterious and plainspoken to create a sort of uncheery Appalachian chamber music. At
its best, Change! Evokes the melancholy story of a man adrift."
-Spin

Before It Breaks You mp3

Lewis & Clarke takes us on a "Post-Folk Neo-Baroque" journey through the intricate mysteries of creation. The experience is one of pure subtlety and mind-altering vision, focusing on "the path" rather than obvious hooks, snares and entrapments. Nylon stringed and bowed instruments are set to transcendental verse and laced with future-primitive synth melodies, transporting us from structured chamber folk into meditative passageways. Contributions from members of Man Man and Rachel's. Cover painting by Erika Somogyi.

"Eight tracks of delicate beauty."

The melding of minds occur in this haunting and gorgeous combination of two philosophical approaches, a swirl of the literal and metaphoric. Duchamp-inspired rotorelief design. Recorded at One Forest in our Pennsylvania mountains during the winter of 2006.

"This excellent first release from the Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania-based label La Société Expéditionnaire is two sides of rustic country-folk music of an exploratory bent. Look at that cover image of a galaxy swirling into a cross-section of a tree trunk and you'll get the idea...It's a page of a nature journal tucked into a philosopher's diary and set adrift, over unfettered voices and instruments."

The loose, fresh versions of past favourites blend with workings of new material, setting a striking ambience including various chimes, vocals, eastern drones, harp, guitar, banjo, piano, percussion, and other whims. Lewis & Clarke
Bright Light 7"
LSE 003 7"
pressing of 600 on pink vinyl

Side A: Doc Holliday was a Phony
Side B: Bright Light

In 2003, one hundred records were shipped overseas for European distribution, never reaching their destination. Obviously vacationing in the Bermuda Triangle for nearly four years, they have now found their way home. A true miracle. We are proud to offer you the lost batch of Lewis & Clarke's first release. Originally issued by Delboy Records.

"Subdued, but smart and introspective-a bit spooky, too. Lou Rogai has an easy, comfortable way with the mic, and he's a pretty interesting songwriter. 'I can see your breath write apologies across the glass,' he sings in 'Bright Light.' A definite mood record."
